Reporting Project for Review and Analysis

As your project is running, you may want to prepare reports for the project data. The data enables different people to review the project progress and health and perform analysis.

Creating Shared Dashboard Pages for Your Project

PPM provides a set of portlets for the Project Management to display project execution related information. To share the information, you can create a module, add portlets in one or separate dashboard pages in the module, and make the module accessible to a specific group of people. Then these people can view your project information in their shared dashboard pages.

For details on creating and sharing a module, see Creating Portlets and Modules.

Exporting Your Project and Work Plan

  • To export project overview to PDF, in the top-right of the project overview page, click the Export to PDF icon.

What is displayed in the exported PDF depends on your selection in the PDF Settings window and the Project Overview Layout policy.

Note: Before 9.61, the first time you export your project to PDF, PPM reads the project title and it will reuse the same value for all the future PDF exports, even if the project is renamed.

Since 9.61, every time you export your project to PDF, PPM will read the project name and reflect the name in the PDF title. If you change the PDF title to be different than the project name, PPM will save the title in the database, and will use the saved title in the future PDF exports.

  • To export project work plan to PDF, in the work plan toolbar, click the Export Work Plan to PDF icon.

What is displayed in the exported PDF depends on your selection in the PDF Export Options window.

  • To export project work plan to Excel, in the work plan toolbar, click the Export Work Plan to Microsoft Excel icon.

Only what is currently displayed in the work plan is exported to Excel.

Note: When exporting a work plan to both PDF and Excel files, if the work plan has a task with a name that contains double-byte numbers, the exported PDF file differs from the exported Excel file. In the exported PDF file, the task name does not contain the double-byte numbers.
